After a
lot of hard work, the Underhill Group has recently been awarded
Investors in People status. Having embarked on the
process back in December 2002 it took only 10 Months to reach the standards
necessary. The award reflects The Underhill Group’s commitment to training
and development in order to provide the best service possible to clients.
As
well as Investors in People, The Underhill Group has achieved
ISO 9001/2000 status. This award demonstrates
The Underhill’s Group commitment to quality and getting it right
first time.
The
two awards are of significant value to the company, as they have enabled
the company to compete competitively and win new clients and contracts.
The awards reflect Underhill’s professionalism and ability to meet
customer demands.
Unerhill Building
Services
have been awarded a five year partnership arrangement with Devon County
Council. The Partnership, which comes into force in April 2004, involves
maintenance and minor works on council properties within the East B area
of Devon. A reactive works call centre
is now operational and an office has been opened in the Honiton Area.
A supply
chain has been established and has already assisted on certain works within
the East B area of Devon.
The contract is
estimated to be worth between £1.5 - £3 million in its first year,
with potential to grow as the framework progresses.
Work with us …. despite the
official start date of 1 April 2004, work has begun to filter in already and
Underhill are looking to establish a supply chain in the area from

The Underhill Group were match sponsors of the Plymouth Argyle home game against Notts
County. Underhill is a
proud sponsor of the team and was pleased to be able to invite a selection
of clients to this event. The Underhill Group hope to organise similar
events in the New Year to give all clients a chance of such an experience.

Underhill Building Services Ltd
have recently undertaken a project with Imerys to construct a major
concrete platform incorporating a loading bay into a compressor washing
facility used for extracting 96% pure clay. The project is due for
completion in February and is progressing to programme.

Underhill
Engineering Ltd are thrilled to continue to develop their relationship with
Princess Yachts after again being rated as a top ten supplier under their
strict regime of Supplier Assurance rating system. Underhill Engineering
Ltd has been a major supplier of Aluminium solutions to Princess Yachts and
has recently become involved in Mild Steel solutions.

Underhill Engineering were recently involved in a
project to cover dock 14 at Devonport Dockyard with a tent structure
enabling work to be undertaken in all weather conditions. Underhill
Engineering carried out civils work to prepare both sides of the dock to
accept support posts and platforms. We were also responsible for the
installation of posts, platforms, Liebig anchor bolts and safety railings.
