Case Study - DML
Case Study - Tamar Bridge

Underhill Engineering is used to working in hostile environments. Underhill Engineering was one of the lead contractors in the challenging and prestigious project to widen the Tamar Bridge which links Devon and Cornwall across the Tamar River.

Underhill’s work included the manufacture of supporting structural steel work, such as runway beams for vehicle cranes and road lifting gantries. Installation in a hostile environment demanded tight tolerances and trial assembly prior to transportation to site and installation.

As with most civil engineering projects strict timescales were prescribed - and huge penalty clauses for not meeting them! – Underhill’s skill at project management and logistics ensured deadlines were met and the work completed bang on budget.

When you work with Underhill you invest not just in first class workmanship but in our strength of attitude, knowledge and skills built from experience.
